Summer in Miami
While looking for some new, last minute travel inspirations on http://nymag.com, we came across this great Miami section where you’ll find the luxe life for less in Miami. Check out these amazing hotels that make your summer in Miami just perfect!
1. The Viceroy Miami just opened in February and is still offering an introductory rate of $199 a night. Kelly Wearstler’s iconic Hollywood Regency style graces the turquoise hotel rooms, the restaurant, and 50th-floor rooftop pool and lounge, while Philippe Starck conjures up more fantastical touches (chairs in the pool, oversize glass fireplaces, and human-size chess sets) at the infinity pool and spa–yoga studio.
2. The cheap and chic Riviera South Beach opened last December just off Collins Avenue and is discounting rooms 50 percent off the rack rates. The Art Deco hotel pays homage to Dorothy Draper with oversized two-room suites, including cowhide rugs, full kitchens, king-size beds, and ivory-leather queen sleeper sofas. The rate also includes an airport shuttle, beach access and chair service, poolside breakfast, and cocktail hour from 7 to 8 p.m.
Darn, we so cannot wait and now have to look for some cheap flights to Miami.
Enjoy this sunny weekend, everyone!

Blogger Lookbook 2013: Travel Inspirations with Fee from “Fee ist mein Name”
School’s out for summer ♥ The lovely Fee from “Fee ist mein Name" is not only one of our most favorite DIY bloggers, she is also so inspiring and leaves a high impact wherever she goes. She always puts so much love and detail in everything she does, which is just stunning. We are pretty sure: this lady has some pretty good karma ‘cause she simply lets the sun shine :-)
Speaking of which, we wanted to know, if Fee would share her favorite travel hot spots with us - for all those out there who are still looking for a last minute trip.
"Which travel spots fascinate me the most? Mmh, there are quite a few, but I can limit it down to three places - one in the USA, one in Europe and one in Germany. Two years ago I spent three weeks in Chicago - the perfect combination of a large city and a recreation area. When visiting Lake Michigan you simply feel like you are out at the sea where you can relax at the beach and just around the corner you’ll find skyscrapers, shopping hot spots and lots of cultural activities. I would go back there in a second.
Regarding Europe, Vienna definitely has a unique charme so that I got immediately hooked. I went there during Christmas season and although I was freezing like crazy, it was incredibly beautiful. I definitely wanna go back in the summer time.
Last but not least, Germany. If I could choose (and if I had the necessary wherewithal), I would immediately move to Hamburg. I am just totally in love with the variety of restaurants, shops, the cultural scene and above all the harbor. I am especially in love with the Port of Hamburg.
Darn, I said, I would limit my travel tips down to three, right? Whatever, I got one more - the Ruhr district in Germany. Yes, really! I live in Dortmund and for me, the Ruhr district is not really an actual travel hot spot, but I love to explore the surrounding country over the weekend. And if somebody out there still thinks, the Ruhr district is just ugly, he or she is more than welcome to stop by at my blog :-)!”
Well, Fee is surely something! It was once again very inspiring and for those of you who wanna know more about Fee and her favorite hot spots, check our her travel section on her blog.
And now, have a wonderful weekend and enjoy yourself!

Summer Special: Custom Made Bikini with SURANIA
One month ago we introduced our collaboration with SURANIA, the only brand that enables customers to design their own swimwear to be tailored. V was the lucky one from our editorial staff to actually try it and had herself made a perfect, custom made bikini.
"Normally, it’s a nightmare to shop for a new bikini. I have to admit that I am very picky regarding style, design and fabrics so that I always look at more lasting, quality fabrics in order to feel confident and comfortable when wearing my swimwear.
But it’s quite difficult to find a bikini off the rack that matches all my requirements: a unique design that almost no-one has, style and fabrics that allow me to wear it at the pool, for some sunbathing or snorkling in the sea AND that also reflects sort of my personalty and enhances my figure at the same time.
Thus, I had pretty high expectations when I ordered my custom made bikini at SURANIA and have to say: I was not disappointed at all!
The order process was pretty simple: four easy steps till you can push the order button.
1. Select the piece you would like to design. - I picked the custom made bikini for the perfect fit.
2. Pick your favorite style for top and bottom. - I went for a ruffled bandeau bikini top with adjustable bottom. Bandeau tops are really flattering on an hourglass figure and the adjustable bottom guarantees a perfect fit for almost any occasion.
3. Select the fabrics and accessories for your bikini as well as the color. - Well, since it should reflect my personality and enhance my beautiful summer teint, I went for neon pink (composition: 80% PE 20% EA).
4. Enter your measurements. - Normally I would pick a regular dress size, but I thought, I would be safe, if I put down my real measurements to guarantee a perfect fit.
And that’s already it. Afterwards you simply push the order button, add your address and payment details and you will receive your custom made bikini within two weeks.
When I received my beautiful new bikini, I was immediately hooked - the fabrics are extraordinary, the design simply beautiful and, most importantly, it fits like a second skin. For me personally, it was probably the best bikini purchase I’ve ever made.
I tested the new bikini for the last four weeks and really challenged the fabrics during our stay in North Cyprus. Our bikini model Melanie wore it in the pool, in chlorine water, went sunbathing afterwards and then - just two hours later -jumped into the sea, going snorkling. No matter what we tried, it was always a perfect fit and the fabrics surely passed our endurance test.
In the gallery above you see our personal highlights from our bikini experience in North Cyprus and I had a great time playing the photographer for once.
All in all, since summer break is finally here and most of you are probably still looking for the perfect beach and swimwear, I can strongly recommend SURANIA (no, I don’t get paid for saying this ;-)), ‘cause due to the perfect fit it not only saves you further trouble, you also have a unique style you can show off at the beach or the nearest pool bar.
So, I say: go for it and enjoy this beautiful summer, ladies!”
NEWS BUZZ: TOPSHOP RECLAIM TO WEAR - 20TH JUNE 2013
Following the success of the debut collection in 2012, Topshop is delighted to be partnering with Reclaim To Wear for the second time to create an upcycled capsule collection of summer wardrobe must-haves with an ethical twist.
Reclaim to Wear was launched in 1997 by ‘From Somewhere’, the pioneering eco fashion label by Orsola de Castro and Filippo Ricci as a design solution to the problem of textile waste. De Castro and Ricci have shared their knowledge with Topshop with the aim of encouraging sustainability within the fashion industry whilst keeping a strong design element in mind.
Using recycled materials, the Topshop Design Team created a collection of delicate floral printed silks in confident colour palettes. A block patterned sleeveless dress is highlighted with lace panels; oversized shirts with checked georgette inserts are paired with shorts while elegant silk camisoles are teamed with matching culottes and double vented pencil skirts. The collection has been entirely produced in Britain.
Orsola de Castro comments: ” We have been really proud to work with the Topshop team on the Reclaim To Wear collections, inspiring them to include upcycling as part of their practice. This is really an important step: one dress at a time, starting small, we are beginning to see that design can influence not just our style, but the way we think about clothes.”
Stephen Mongan, Topshop Head of Sourcing and Technical Services comments: “We proudly partnered with one of our key London manufacturers on our second collection, with a focus on localism. The inspiration behind the collection was to turn away from disposable fashion, giving a new lease of life to disregarded prints from previous seasons. We are looking forward to growing the Topshop Reclaim to Wear range, season on season, bringing more product areas into the portfolio.”
The collection launches tomorrow, 20th June 2013.
